Luton V West Ham
Surely scheduling this on a Friday night is a terrible idea?? I'm assuming it won't be very family friendly

Realgsa,
Need St Pancras for Luton. Before I'd drink in Harpenden. Nice pubs there and then short train journey to Luton

What are the options to eat and drink before the game? Kings cross the train.

I went to Luton last year for a meeting, its still a shithole. The best thing about the place is the airport

I didn’t realise we hadn’t played them since losing 3-2 in that cup quarter final. Steve Potts’ worst moment for the club. And now his son could be lining up for them. Life is strange.

Showaddywaddy & Oakes need the Brighton treatment too.

A big test, not so much the team but the ground. Not sure what changes they have made but at the end of last season they had 'beach hut' type buildings one side of the pitch and the 'crowd' was on top of the players. Could be quite hostile but we should still be too good for them.

I don't think it's bad scheduling: The Bowler Hat & Brolly faction of our support will be leaving their shiny offices in and around Fenchurch Street sometime between 5 & 6pm. Circle line to St. Pancras for a few slurps before catching the (commuter-rammed) BedPan service to Luton.

Unless they're rapidly necking snakebites with B52 chasers, they won't have time to get pissed.

What is bad scheduling is posting this before Coffee's Weekend football thread. Smacks of infantile impatience.

Train strike on Friday so no trains ;-)

Didn’t we face Forest last season in their first home game after being promoted?

I remember that game where we lost but should have won be a handful.

Can’t see lightening striking twice. This time I expect to see us bury them 4-0.

You'd think/hope that going into the weekend back at the top of the table would be motivation enough (and at least double our goal difference), but I'm old skool West 'am, me - I'm already going round kicking the wheels, hoping that they stay on a bit longer.

They are not a good side and we should be winning this comfortably.

Thinking about there old plastic pitch. Was that their best era while they had it? Oldham & QPR seemed to benefit too. Preston were still shit though.

Worth noting, we talked about bogey teams with Brighton, we've won 4 in our last 21 games with this lot...

First game in the top flight since the 80s at Kenilworth Road blah blah blah its going to be all about them....whatever we should be smashing them.

Re: Luton V West Ham
I watched Luton on telly against Chelsea. They really weren't a bad footballing side.

I suspect Moyes will set us up as against Brighton. They are playing in their updated stadium for the first time so it will be emotional for them. They will probably have more possession than us but I hope we score at least one more than them.

Where they seemed weakest is scoring goals which I guess is down to superior defenders in PL.

Bruuno,

Thought it would be obvious that a late Friday kick off would mean most would be drunker than usual, have you got it from here or would you like me to draw you a diagram ?
